Membership FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions

Here we provide answers to your frequently asked questions about KTEH Membership.

Does KTEH exchange names, addresses, phone numbers and e-mail addresses from its membership list?

Membership information will never be sold, only rented or exchanged, and we adhere to strict protections and restrictions outlined in the full KTEH Membership List Policy.

I am a member of both KTEH and KQED. Now that the two have merged, why am I receiving membership renewal notices from both?

KTEH, KQED, and KQEI became NCPB only after the member vote which was approved on October 25, 2006. While it is true that that vote authorized the creation of NCPB, the budgets for these organizations had already been approved for 2007. A merger like this takes time to examine every detail carefully in order to make the best decisions for our members. As a result, for 2007, at least, each station will retain its own budget and membership structure. Each station depends on its members to keep the programming available which enriches our lives. Now that the merger has been approved, we have begun to investigate new membership models and we will keep you informed through future columns.

How do I change my mailing address?

Send your OLD and NEW name and address to member@kteh.org or call us at (408)795-5411.

How long does it take to get my gift after I pledge?

Generally, it takes from six to eight weeks after we record your pledge payment (or first installment). If you are concerned about your gift, please call Member Services at (408)795-5411 or email member@kteh.org.

I already renewed. Why am I still receiving renewal notices?

Sometimes your renewal payment gets posted to your membership after we have pulled the file to send the next month's renewal notices. Occasionally, your payment may not have been recorded as a renewal. If you are concerned, contact us at (415) 553-2150 or (408) 795-5411 or email member@kteh.org.

When will I receive my preview guide?

If it's a new pledge, it takes 3-4 weeks for new members to receive their first issue of the Preview guide.

I emailed/left msg/sent a note to not share my name with any other organization and I haven't received any indication of KTEH receiving my request. What's the status on this?

We are in the process of updating all accounts, however due to the overwhelming response, please allow few weeks for a notification.

If your question does not appear above, please send it to faq@kqed.org.
